In 1986 in Commerce City Colorado, La Casa del Rey opened and became an immediate mainstay in the Denver Metro area. Owners Ernie and Nancy Atencio have designed La Casa del Rey to replace Grama Atencio's authentic Mexican cooking dated back to the early 1920's using fresh, high-quality ingredients to prepare made-from-scratch traditional dishes.
